I’m just using wordpress pages with a tag titled basics – nothing custom. When using the settings you recommend, it results in all pages on the site (even pages without tags or categories or different tags and categories all together). If I remove “Show with all pages” and leave only the basics tag selected, the sidebar doesn’t show up on the site at all.

I have just this one sidebar created for testing/vetting. the only option I’ve selected under the Content area is Tags – one tag called basics. when I save and view in a browser, nothing changes unless I select the page name under the Content area? I’m at a loss?

This was a plugin conflict with Fancybox. I replaced fancybox and the problem was solved. thank you k2eric for your reply.
