Sorry. It’s been a while since I set it up. Thanks for the quick response.

In reply to: [Subscribe2 - Form, Email Subscribers & Newsletters] email deliveryWanted to follow up and report that “Configure SMTP” did resolve the problem. Once emails were authenticating all emails were delivered except the spam or bad addresses ones. And now I’m receiving bounced email notifications (unlike before).
Thanks for the help.

In reply to: [Subscribe2 - Form, Email Subscribers & Newsletters] email deliveryBefore I try the Configure SMTP suggested, our host provider is advising “email address, it doesn’t appear to be authenticating”:
Even though it’s configured to send from a specific email address, it doesn’t appear to be authenticating. un-authenticated email sent from a script would be sent as the cPanel user rather than the email address itself.
You may need to check and make sure SMTP authentication has been configured and is actively being used http://email.about.com/od/emailprogrammingtips/qt/PHP_Email_SMTP_Authentication.htmSounds like Configure SMTP may still be the answer but I wanted to add above response by my host provider in case you had anything to add.

In reply to: [Subscribe2 - Form, Email Subscribers & Newsletters] email deliveryI suspect some of your Registered Users are not fully Subscribed. Have a look in their settings by clicking ‘edit’ below their email address at Subscribe2->Subscribers and check.
No, they are subscribed there: All Subscribed Categories
Here is a further update from our service provider when they checked their email log:
The message is being rejected as the receiving mail server is trying to verify the sender [email protected] and failing. We would recommend changing your mail script to send out from an email address that is set up on your account.
I am not sure why they are saying that as the From setting in Subscribe2 is:
[email protected] and not [email protected]Any thoughts on this?
Thanks
Exactly the file I was looking to edit. Thanks.
(The extra “please” was my typo. Sorry.)

In reply to: Subscribe2 – Unsubscribe message for Registered UsersThank You. I have reposted there.
Appreciate it.
Appreciate all your help.
Thanks.
OK, that helps.
One other question about subscribers. Regarding this:
“Public Subscribers have provided their email address for email notification of your new posts. When they enter there address on your site they are sent an email asking them to confirm their request and added to a list of Unconfirmed Subscribers. Once they complete their request by clicking on the link in their email they will become Confirmed Subscribers. They will receive a limited email notification when new post is made or periodically (unless that post is assigned to one of the excluded categories you defined).
These Public Subscribers will receive a plaintext email with an excerpt of the post:
either the excerpt you created when making the post, the portion of text before a tag (if present), or the first 50 words or so of the post.”Is there a way to send these Confirmed Public Subscribers an HTML excerpt (when emails are sent for each new post) instead of a plaintext excerpt?
The host provider has now increased PHP memory limit on VPS to 512M.
Here is what continues to happen:
Go to Bulk Management update on Registered Subscribers and:
– set all users to HTML excerpt
– click Bulk Update Format
No error. WorksBut if I do Bulk Management update on Registered Subscribers and:
– Choose all categories
– click Bulk Update Categories
Then get error:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 80 bytes) in /home/genoma/public_html/living/wp-includes/meta.php on line 778
Oddly, after it fails, seems like all users have all categories selected (which right now is what I want). But if I do Bulk Management update on Registered Subscribers to:
– Choose 1 category to unsubscribe
– click Bulk Update Categories
No error but the one category is not unsubscribed.Seems like I can get what I want: all categories, html excerpt but I am concerned about above inconsistencies.
Unfortunately, I tried another Bulk Management update on Registered Subscribers to:
– Choose all categories
– set all users to HTML excerpt
When I submitted I got this error:Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 77 bytes) in /home/genoma/public_html/living/wp-includes/cache.php on line 561
(FYI, frequency is set to Every Post)
Any thoughts?
I see what you mean.
I tried it and the Bulk Management update was successful.Thanks.
If I want Registered Users to receive Subscribe2 notifications, I believe I need to change in Subscribe2–>Subscribers–>Registered Subscribers–>All Registered Users, then at bottom of screen (under Bulk Management) select Yes for Subscribe Selected Users to receive a periodic digest notification.
The problem is that there are almost 400 pages of these users and the Bulk Action appears only to affect page one on the screen. I don’t see a way to select all of these “All Registered Users”.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
So if Subscribe2 is set to send “For Each Post” and posts are made daily at 11AM daily,
is there a concern in editing/changing the Email Notification template and testing with Preview Email after 11AM. If there are 10,000 subscribers, should we allow a certain amount of time before changing/editing Email Notification template.
There is no throttling on our VPN managed server.Thanks.
Thanks for the quick response!
OK, thanks for your help.
