the screenshot shows that your feed is still fetching the image from Instagram’s CDN. This was changed to be the last resort in previous versions of Spotlight and it now tries to use local versions of the images to avoid such issues. The fact it’s still happening on your site and not on others tells us that you’re either using an older version of Spotlight or something else is interfering with our plugin in some way. Both will need further investigation.
The site is a super simple elementor site, completely up-to-date. It’s not ‘still fetching’ but it somehow broke when fetching and doesn’t manage to re-initialise to do it’s job properly.
The “update posts interval” has always been available in Spotlight’s settings as shown here in the Configuration page: https://docs.spotlightwp.com/article/813-configuration
Like I said above: it doesn’t work. If it did the posts would be fetched.
If your feed continues to show grey thumbnails or doesn’t update automatically, please contact us by email so we can investigate your site setup in more detail once again. Access token not expired and cron is running without any issues. “Future Off-Facebook Activity” is a non-issue.
Now what??
Please provide a solution that will do the “update posts” action at an interval of my choosing. I don’t care if it’s a snippet or a setting in the plugin, just make sure it works. None of the current “configuration” settings have any effect. Posts are broken and other feeds are emtpy until manually updated.
Issue is back, as usual. When will this finally be fixed??

A single 632kb css file is not going to reduce load time. If the website has http2 (most do) separate css files is much faster. It is not up to you to decide this. Any caching plugin like WP Rocket will take care of this.
It would be impossible to dynamically generate css file every time, it would take too much resources on client’s servers in order to perform this.
Not dynamically, just bundle the scripts and styles. If Elementor can do it, why not you? They have introduced “Improved Asset Loading” a long time ago: https://elementor.com/blog/introducing-elementor-3-1/.
I like your components but installing the plugin will kill any website’s performance.

Frans, I appreciate you taking the time to explain all this but what I’m seeing in the browser is something else.
My example image is served by Cloudflare and it’s optimised to 187kb. However, the webp image is only 85kb so why is the jpg still getting served?
So in short, my sites are no longer on the same CDN as before and that particular CDN doesn’t support conversion to webp.
Not very predictable and usable then.
Created a ticket, will keep this thread updated.
I added an example image url.
If Cloudflare decides to seemingly arbitrarily not converted images, how can we still use your plugin reliably?
