    You Said:

When a page is set as the Shop page under WooCommerce > Settings > Products > General, WooCommerce overrides that page’s content and applies the product catalog template instead. This means any custom content or templates you’ve applied to that page won’t be shown.

What is the point of that ????

    You Said

If you’re using a block theme and want to customize your shop layout, the correct way is to edit the Product Catalog template (not the Shop page itself). You can find and customize that template under Appearance > Editor > Templates > Product Catalog.

In my search of the internet I have not once come across this

So if I understand this correctly there is no need for a shop page and no point in setting the Products > General to shop if I use a block theme which I am. Wish I had known this before spending countless hours trying to link the custom shop page to the menu item.

Now we have discovered this can you tell me why I now have my custom shop page displaying when I click on the Shop menu item when the Products > General is set to Home Page.

What is happpening is as follows

    1. Select WooCommerce > Settings > Products > General>Shop I get a products page when I select shop from Menu
    2. Select WooCommerce > Settings > Products > General>Leave Blank I get a products page when I select shop from Menu
    3. Select WooCommerce > Settings > Products > General> Any other page eg Home I get my custon shop page when I select Shop from the menu

If you select Shop from my website menu now you will get the custom shop page I want to use but the WooCommerce > Settings > Products > General> is set to Home Page

Gosh thank you for your quick response.

    The Shop is active.

I am trying to display the Shop page which is being built as I speak, however the Shop page that has been selected for the menu item is not what is being displayed

My custom shop page has a heading “Bring Your Garden to Life – Explore Our Garden Collection” but it is not being shown

What is the point of woocommerce if you cannot do one simple thing ie; Have shop selected as the products and shop selected as the menu/navigation option and you cannot display the shop and get directed to some product page.

I have scoured the internet, I have deleted and re-installed woocommerce and still not working.

My frustration with this plug after hours and hours trying to get it to work is growing to a level unknown to man. Is there nobody out there with knowledge far greater than mine able to help.

    It seems this was temporary

I went to my custom page and changed the heading content width and aligned the text centre and now it does not work anymore and we are back to the page showing products

Seriously, all i want is my custom page as per the menu and page settings

I think I might have fixed but I won’t hold my breath

I renamed the Page slug to store
I renamed the menu link to store
    Still got the wrong page
Renamed the Page slug back to shop
Renamed the menu link back to shop

And hey presto I have the custom page I wanted.

Is this going to be a permanent situation I do not know but will keep my fingers crossed

    Hi,

Tried the disable all plugins but to no avail.

    Don’t have Gutenberg installed

    Cleared the browser cache

    3. Try Classic Patterns Workaround
    They are just not there

    4. Manual Code Solution (Advanced Option)
    Not tried this yet

    Editor
    3. Temporary Workaround
The option to detach is not available in the menu, only after I double click

I will keep an eye however this started with 6.7 but I saw there was to be a solution to this problem with 6.7.1 but obviously didnt work.

I have installed and set up the plugin and all seems to be as I expected, I wonder if I had got things a bit messed up with all the different attempts to set up.

The one question I have is Why is there 2 login pages, Login and Login-2

    Hi,

I have deleted pmpro content and deactivated and removed the install then re-installed the plug in again hope this works.

It seemed there were strange goings on and the landing page from login should have been /membership-account but it was landing on /membership-account/membership-checkout/?level=1’.

I feel the landing page should be /membership-account and should happen automatically and not need the work around.

I will retest again later today and report back.

So Steven Stern (sterndata) Volunteer Forum Moderator !

I have chosen to take my time to respond to your “You’ve removed the URLs again. I’m done here.” response .

    1. I did not remove urls again, the first they were entered into the safe url box why they did not appear I do not know.
    2. I did remove them the last time because silly me thought you would have said url’s and it would be safe for me to remove rather than have them floating out on the wild west west

What the you moderator don’t know with an attitude like this (a guru and moderator)

    1. Have I a disabilty
    2. Have I dementia
    3. Am I frustrated that this so called easy block system is not working and coming to you is a last resort

    What I know

    1. This so called helpful forum is nothing of the kind
    2. This moderator (volunteer) is probably vetted to ensure his powers of expertise and customer relations skill are of a high standard
    3. The response from this moderator (volunteer) was poor
    4. The WordPress column block sizing function is not working for me
    5. Interesting a possible flaw with wordpress could be so easily swept under the moderator (volunteer) carpet

What I would like to know

    1. How do I fix this issue
    2. Is this issue fixable
    3. Is this problem a deep rooted problem within the wordpress stratosphere
    4. Where do I go now since the moderator (volunteer) is unable to help resolve the problem

In the meantime my site urls are out there for all to see

I only removed them because I thought you now had them and would be safe to remove, I am really sorry. Is there any way to hide them
