For some reason I’d blocked updates for Loco Translate. I updated to the current version, and the issue is now resolved.

It’s working now. The only one of your suggestions I hadn’t already tried was clearing the FTS cache, and that immediately did the trick.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I find the same two strings when searching for “Just to let you know”.
However, neither of them has the word “payment in them.
