Woo Hoo! Hit confirmed. I’m at the contol pannel for word press.

    The problem:
    Could not install

    Solution:
downloaed again, unzipped again, cuploaded with wsftp

    2nd Problem:
Could not install, but got WP error screen

    Solution:

I had delete and recreated the username in the process of trying to correct the original prblem… forgot to grant al accesses the second time I made the username. Corrected access and we’re golden.

Thanks all for the assistance and I hope this helps others in the future. Now all I have to do is figure out how to change the theme, but I promise I won’t ost those quesions in this section.

    Thanks again all.

I just checked and the reason you couldn’t see it was that it was not there, either directory. I uploadd again and still, not readme.html was to be found. I checked the unziped wordpress folder I was uploading from and… Yes, I’m a goober. It was not in there either leading me to believe there had been a problem with the unzip. I uploaed everything again to the wordpress folder with wsftp and (had been using cuteftp but I’ve read that directnic doesn’t like it) and tried the install again.

I’m getting a little farther. On install, I can now see a page tha tells me:

We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the theshir_WordPress database.

I’m going to make sure the database is named correctly and try again.

I tried both. All the files are thereand uploaded several times both in the wordpress folder and in the root.

Fantastico is not in any faq or guide they have. I do not believe it’s in the control pannel which is rudimentary.

Another note, I tried to install using the PHPMyAdmin utility they have on the site and the directions did not follow with what I was seeing in the interface. It may be older than the instructions.

Tried it and it did not take. I was told by their trouble ticket system that mydb.dndchosting.com should be set as the db_host. That’ not woking either. any other thoughts?
