Thank you for your help. It’s true, and you might like to know that with GoDaddy’s Manage WordPress sites, access to mu-plugins is “read only” for users like us. And they refused to remove the old plugin files! Stuck with something ancient, I guess.

Does not seem to be a plugin. I use a shortcode bundled with Qode’s Satellite 7 theme:

The site is now set to clear hourly, but problem still there. It appears there are two cached versions of my home page, one of which is the landing spot for the problem described above.
