I didn’t make any progress on this install and have now changed host and domain.

I have contacted my host on monday, and again yesterday, about my wordpress installation problems and haven’t heard from them yet.
If there’s anything I can try at my end, I would try it. Otherwise, I’ll have to look for a new host.
