    Many of us can’t get rid of the plugin, or even ugprade it to the latest version without it breaking our site

    The Cloudflare team doesn’t help on this site. I had the same problem, and the only way to get mysite working again was to restore my wordpress database to the previous version.

    Cloudflare does something to the database on activate that it doesn’t undo on deactivate.

    I am now seeing this problem again after upgrading to 3.3.3 on a test site. the test site wp-admin page no longer works.

    DK PDF uses the new mPDF library… so, for now, we’re using both plugins. this for print DK for pdfs.

    7.2 specifically? I’m on 7.1 and I cannot generate PDFs

    Adding that setting to .php/5.3/phprc (dreamhost VPS) fixed the problem on one blog. I will repeat the process with the others.

    I will check to see if my host allows such things. I doubt it.

    I tried both settings individually. It’s the check images as executable that blows it up. Is there a more efficient way to make these checks? If not, perhaps you should add a clear warning to the options menu?

    I take back the claim that it was configured the same as the others.

    These 2 were checked.

    Scan files outside your WordPress installation
    Scan image files as if they were executable

    That said, Wordfence should still work even if they are checked. I’ve left them unchecked for now.

    Why would Wordfence struggle mightily if these are checked?

    I highly recommend using cloudflare with one of your sites. The free level is excellent.

    As sdayman noted above I use dreamhost and since they support both IPv4 and IPv6 I use both.

    On cloudflare, IPv6 was on — that might be their default. I shut it off.
    The next option is Pseudo IPv4

    I had that enabled, but there’s an option I hadn’t tried, to overwrite headers. I turned that on and wordfence’s constant error stream was gone.

    The Pseudo IPV4 option in cloudflare is the magic that makes this go away. Select that option, and choose “Overwrite”. This replaces all headers that contain IPV6 with an IPV4 version.
