    Hi. Same issue here. I’ve run a test and here are the results:

    Missing required XML namespace declaration for <sitemapindex>

    By the way, I tried what you suggested.
    The whole website occupies 8GB.
    A scan without “Start all scans remotely” option, stopped at 3.71GB.

    After applying Start all scans remotely, the scan stopped almost immediately

    [Mar 31 15:48:55] The disk has 332220.58 MB available
    [Mar 31 15:48:55] Including files that are outside the WordPress installation in the scan.
    [Mar 31 15:48:55] Getting plugin list from WordPress
    [Mar 31 15:48:55] Found 28 plugins
    [Mar 31 15:48:55] Getting theme list from WordPress
    [Mar 31 15:48:55] Found 3 themes
    [Mar 31 15:48:56] 500 files indexed
    [Mar 31 15:48:56] 1000 files indexed
    [Mar 31 15:48:56] 1500 files indexed
    [Mar 31 15:48:56] 2000 files indexed
    [Mar 31 15:48:56] 2500 files indexed
    [Mar 31 15:48:57] 3000 files indexed

    At a third attempt, it got stuck a few seconds later, at 2.45 GB

    Hi. Thank you for your answer.

    The web hosting is now claiming that wordfence is set to scan not the wordpress installation but the whole cpanel. Is that even possible? I do not think so…

    I see the option “Scan files outside your WordPress installation”, but I guess it does not expand the scan to parent folders.

    Can you confirm?

    I think I found what I need.
    – Alert me with scan results of this severity level or greater: – > high
    – uncheck “Alert me when someone with administrator access signs in”

    I’d like to receive notifications for modified/injected files, not for login or missing plugin/core updates. I’ll check it out anyway.
