Doesn’t appear that Aftership is going to fix this. I’ve been trying for 2 days now with their helpdesk to get someone to look at it, and all they do is mark the ticket as resolved immediately. It’s probably best to start looking at other options.

This was added in the latest version due to the addition of a new front-end widget. It needed some basic styling for tables and whatnot. I tried to keep the styling as lightweight as possible.
Has this been causing any issues for you? Do you have any kind of performance or page-load data? There is a planned update for the plugin in < 2weeks. I can revisit how the widget is styled if you feel there is a better method.

However, to answer your question, there is no way to make the dotted placeholders disappear, as that is part of WordPress’ core functionality. It is a visual indicator to let the end user know that other dashboard widgets can be placed in those areas.
