In reply to: Comments and form not showing on comments Admin pageThank you James. The content on that page is actually from the Comments section:
I did not build the site but can you tell me (or guess as to why):
a) the Comments are linked to that page?
b) how the Submit form appears at the bottom of that page and then submits a “comment” to be approved and then appear on the page?

In reply to: Accessing wordpress without dnsI’ve installed WordPress on our server before we change the nameservers for an existing site smartmoneytech.com. That is a current site being hosted elsewhere but once WordPress has been configured and refined on our server we will change the nameservers to point to our server.
I can reach the install here:
http://173.244.217.232/~httpsmartmoneyte/
using the IP address and the username for the account.
But when I try to reach the WP Admin at:
http://173.244.217.232/~httpsmartmoneyte/wp-admin/
The login page goes to the current host:
http://smartmoneytech.com/wp-login.php?
MyThemeShop above mentioned this:
“Simply set your WordPress Address and Site Address URL in Settings > General to “http://x.x.x.x” where x.x.x.x is the IP of your server and it should work fine.”
If that is true how do get to Settings > General or is there another way?

In reply to: Site down (mostly) after server updateI’ll answer the question myself. Yes, the plugin the client installed (a Facebook plugin) added code to the left nav but when it was deactivated the code remained and caused the problem. Bad plugin.

In reply to: Site down (mostly) after server updateHi Christine,
s_ha_dum was correct. There was some errant code just before the left nav. Thank you s_ha_dum.
I will mark this as resolved after asking one question. This is a client site. I have not touched the site in months. The client swears that the only thing that he did recently was install and activate a plug-in. Then he deactivated it. I doubt he would have the ability to change anything in the code.
My question is this: could installing a plugin somehow change the code for the layout?
