Hello Macario
Thank you very much for your further reply.
I did read the post link you sent however no-one appears to have the problem that we are having. Most of the issues people have experienced relate to things like image size, server resources, PHP, file names etc. However none of the folk on the forum have the problem we have – which is in fact the absurd situation of being able to import ANY image into WordPress regardless of size. But the moment we add text to the image it will not import – even though it is just a JPEG file – it is simply an amended version of the original image.
We have been adding text to images for ten years now without any issue whatsoever. It just makes no sense whatsoever. Even when we name the file the same as the unaltered image, it will not import. Yet, how on earth can WordPress possibly know that text has been placed over the image? After all it is simply a JPEG file. WordPress neither knows what is in the image nor cares!! And nor should Wordpress know that it has even been altered.
We also even tried to install a File Uploader plugin and once again this would not u;load the altered image but uploaded the original.
So, at this point, we find ourselves at a dead end and we can no longer upload fresh content to our site or send out newsletters.
Do you have any suggestions on what actions we could take to resolve this issue? I did find a plugin which would enable you to lay text over images from WITHIN WordPress itself – but it has not been updated for several years and could cause compatibility issues.
I would welcome your further comments if possible.
Many thanks for your help.
Best regards
BryanHi Macario
Thanks for sharing some insights.
We have been using Chrome to upload photos into the WP Media library (not with a plugin) just as we have for the last 10 years! Nothing changed our end.
As suggested, I tried doing another test in Edge – same pattern. Edited (watermarked) image rejected with same error message: “Post-processing of the image failed likely because the server is busy or does not have enough resources. Uploading a smaller image may help. Suggested maximum size is 2500 pixels.”
I tried a large unedited image (1Mb) and it uploaded into library no problems. I then did another test with two images (one large and unedited except for naming the file but no image resizing or watermarking etc) and the identical image that was resized and watermarked. They had the identical file name and both were rejected in Edge. I uploaded another free stock image (large file) and it went in fine. Frustrating!
I’ll try Firefox as another test but don’t think this is the issue. Any other ideas?
Any help you can provide is gratefully appreciated. We have to get our company newsletter out ASAP and can’t until this is resolved. I hope this doesn’t bend your brain too much! It’s doing ours in.
Cheers Bryan

In reply to: [Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster] Contact Form 7 still loadingHi Gabe,
You have gone to a lot of trouble to assist in helping me to understand how your plugin works – and I appreciate it, especially as the plugin is free.
I am starting to see just how effective your plugin could be (and this is reflected in the reviews I have read).
I will communicate with you separately via email about obtaining your help with our site optimization. In that manner your time and generosity of spirit may be rewarded!
Thanks again!

In reply to: [Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster] Contact Form 7 still loadingAlso Gabe, although I set Contact Form 7 script to load only on the Contact page, the “Make Fewer http requests” result in GT Metrix is unchanged – does this surprise you?

In reply to: [Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster] Contact Form 7 still loadingTo correct my wording, I meant “I was incorrectly thinking”……ie I now understand that your plugin does not deactivate plugins …. if that makes sense

In reply to: [Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster] Contact Form 7 still loadingHi Gabe,
Thanks very much for looking at this – I appreciate it. We certainly wish to optimize our site to a higher level and I am heartened to know that your plugin will be effective in making fewer http requests. And so yes, we will be happy to pay for your help to improve things.
What do you feel is a sensible fully loaded page speed score that we could gain and what might be involved?? Should I correspond with you at your email address on this issue?
As regards the functionality of the plugin I think I now understand how it works. I was thinking that by deactivating the handles I was actually deactivating the plugin completely. Is that correct?
If so, I apologise for wasting your time.
Is it a good idea to use both Plugin Organizer AND your plugin? For my understanding, I could have used Plugin Organizer to also achieve the same thing with the contact form except that your method is a little bit better in that the Contact Me page would load faster ie it would only call on resources at the point of clicking on the “SEND” button?
I guess the hard part now will be identifying what scripts can be safely excluded from pages and posts!!
Anyhow, looking forward to hearing back from you.
Many thanks again.
Regards,
Bryan

In reply to: [Asset CleanUp: Page Speed Booster] Contact Form 7 still loadingHello Gabe,
Thank you very much for your quick response.
The page I am testing is:
https://themicrogardener.com/about/contact/
And I did definitely set the Contact Form 7 plugin to not load on that page (just as a test).
I have sent login credentials to you as requested.
Please note that I have removed the prior “Unload” settings on that page so that you are starting from a blank canvas.
Many thanks.
Best,
Bryan

In reply to: [Ultimate Post List] Fatal error being producedEverything seems fine now – after I deleted the short code in question and recreated it. It must have been corrupt somehow.
Thanks

In reply to: [Ultimate Post List] Fatal error being producedThank you for your response.
I had already deactivated All In One Event Calendar and it made no difference.
Thanks for having a look anyway.
I am going to have another look at it now to see if the problem persists.
Thank you for the warning about the screenshot. Can you bring tell me how to delete it. Do I have to contact WordPress?
Thanks & regards,
Bryan
Hi Michael,
Thanks for getting back to me so quick.
Wow, I did not even realise there was a separate Importer plugin you have to use. I do not recall reading that anywhere. At least I know now. I will track that down. It probably explains why everything failed to import properly (just using the WordPress Importer tool).

In reply to: [WP Symposium Pro] Mixed feelings previously but feeling more positive nowJan, I am trying to change my rating to 4 stars but it won’t accept the modification. Can you do that at your end? You will see that I modified my post.
Forum: Reviews
In reply to: [WP Symposium Pro] Mixed feelings previously but feeling more positive nowI can see that I can edit my review and so I will now add a comment at the top of that review in the light of the response from the developer. This will also remove any confusion caused by having given it 5 stars.

In reply to: [WP Symposium Pro] Mixed feelings previously but feeling more positive nowThanks Jan for your response. Good point. Clearly I did not mean to give it 5 stars and this is now essentially rectified by virtue of this reply – it should have been TWO stars. Obviously the 5 stars is a default rating which can catch you out – maybe this should be clearer – or maybe its just my fault. In any event, in the mood I was when I did the post I would have given it TWO stars.
Moving on from there, in view of the developer’s positive and pro-active response (plus an email reply regarding the technical problems) I am now going to add a follow-up post acknowledging this.
As you can see, the developer has acknowledged some serious shortcomings in their support system and is addressing them which will be of benefit to their business, so a lot of good appears to have come out of this. I am also appreciative of the tone of his response and this can go a long way towards “healing wounds”.
