In reply to: Update to 2.9.2 FailedHm, I seem to have fixed it!
It seems that I changed chmod to 775, then back to 755 and now everything is working…I wonder if the failed upgrade attempt changed some file permissions…?
Also, I completely removed the htaccess file that I had been working on.
Oh well. One to remember. Thanks to you guys for all your help and advice, the Using Permalinks advice was invaluable.
Cheers!

In reply to: Update to 2.9.2 FailedMy webhost suggested that it may be a problem with the htaccess file. However, I know very little about these, and I can’t seem to find any in the wordpress file despite having show all files enabled.
How is the htaccess file supposed to be set up for WordPress? I have tried a few solutions, from using a blank one on the root to using code from various forums. None of this seemed to work…

In reply to: Update to 2.9.2 FailedHi, to begin with, I tried copying up the files from my local computer. I made a point of downloading them beforehand. When that didn’t work, I tried deleting everything on the server and trying a fresh install.
Thankfully, it was only a test site. So losing anything on there was not a problem. But now, when I go to install.php, it throws up exactly the same screen.
Oh, and sorry – the link I supplied to my website was wrong. It should be http://ccgi.lumbnet.plus.com/bm/
