I decided to try the wp-admin with chrome and I was able to drag the widget over. Before I was using IE9. I should have tried compatability view in IE. Thanks for the feedback. Mentioning Javascript was the keyword that triggered the idea of using another browser.

Found the problem on the Events Calendar forum.

In case anyone else has that problem it’s events-calendar-large within the [] brackets. It’s no longer EventsCalendarLarge.

    good luck

Update. All the previous calendar info is still in Dashboard>Events Calendar in lower left corner. But the page still loads with nothing but EventsCalendarLarge.

    BTW: Running WP 3.0.1
I’m searching high and low on this and other forums and people have had the same but no real solutions.

    thanks

Of course it would have to be something so simple.
I’m very grateful for you help.

I backed up the database, downgraded to 2.8.6 via ftp without replacing the wp-content and the wp-config-sample.php but I’m still getting the same results.

I’ve noticed when I turn off the Events Calender plugin that the Navigation menu highlights appropriatley as the mouse hovers above the menu links but other than that nothings improved.

I’m considering a way to recreate the site with the same template.

Eagerly looking for suggestions or ideas.
    Thanks,
    Budgen
