Found the solution:

Obviously, the sorting we used is only for the editor. The final sort order on the web page is defined in the shortcode.
I have the same issue! Sorting actually works as described but only for those pictures displayed at the “Edit Gallery” page, which shows only up to 50 pictures at a time (what is not modifiable).

thanks for the quick response. I added the 5 or so new translations and uploaded the file to the same location (link above).
But there is something weird: Most of the many new translations just don’t appear. That is nearly the whole add-on page, except the pushbutton labels at the page bottom (while the same pushbuttons at the top have still English labels).
There are still a few other places where labels or sentences don’t even appear in the .po file.

thanks for including the German translation in the distribution! I’d be glad to further help with the German translation so I translated some new text strings as well. I even changed a few new translations to impersonal wording because that avoids having different normal and formal translations.
