I had originally assumed that it would be a theme setting which is why I struggled to find a way to resolve it.
I found that it’s a general wordpress setting, found on the menu under “settings” – “reading” – “blog posts show at most — posts”
OK, I figured it out, I should have explored the basic worpress functions rather than the theme specific ones!
