Hi alexander,
Thanks for your email.
Having checked with my hosting provider, the error was caused by a restriction they added to my account.
As soon as I sorted this out, mailing returned to normal.
Thanks for your help in troubleshooting.
Cheers
I have tried using another SMTP plugin and I’m getting the same issue. I have contacted my host to see if anything has changed on their end.
I tried version 1.3.3. Mail still not sending with same error as before.
Thanks. I will give that a go and let you know.
Could it be caused by one of the latest WordPress updates? Or PHP compatibility?
I just find it very strange that everything was working so well. Then all of a sudden, all sites just stopped sending mail.
I’ve had the latest version installed across all sites for a month. I hadn’t experienced any issues before that.
Also, the one line debug info is all I’m getting. There is no further debug info on screen.
Do you have a previous version of the plugin that I could try?
The debug info reads as follows:
SMTP ERROR: Failed to connect to server: Connection timed out (110)SMTP connect() failed. https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer/wiki/Troubleshooting

In reply to: [WP Super Cache] Call to undefined function wp_cache_setting()I am having a similar issue. It started this afternoon.
The error first appeared when I updated under construction plugin. I’ve now deactivated and removed it and deleted cache. In the admin area I get the error when I try to access certain admin areas.
