    This actually works perfectly, one thing to note for future readers is that you need to enable the “Page Attributes” setting on the Post Type to make the parent drop down appear on the right hand side (after enabling Hierarchical).

    I have then disabled the archive and created a page with the slug faqs. This means that I can use WPBakery to create the “faqs” page as I want it editable and then I can also use WPBakery on all parent/child pages as they are all posts.

    Thanks Michael, that actually makes a great deal of sense. I’ll go and give your suggestion a try and report back how it all goes together, for future readers.
