Hi,
It looks like i’ve found the problem. The Search Appearance/taxonomies/Categories section was set to no for show categories in search results.
Upon changing this setting, it is now showing the index value on the page on the staging site.
Can you foresee any problems with enabling this for the live site?
Thanks
Hi Again,
I have figured something out possibly. If I change the permalink on the page to /news1 instead of /news – the yoast seo settings apply correctly and I can then see:
index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1
Do I perhaps need to rebuild the sitemap or something?
Thanks
Alas, I have done that as well. I upgraded to 15.2 on the staging site but no luck.
I have already done this. See my previous posts. I have run this on both the live site and the staging site.
Ok,
So first test didn’t go so well as the website broke if I didn’t have two plugins loaded aside from yoast.
So, currently I have everything disabled except:
Advanced custom fields pro
Yoast Seo
A custom plugin made by our web developerI have updated yoast to 15.2
The noindex value is still there.
I have also tried switching the theme to 2020 but that broke the site as well – we’re currently using a theme made by our developer.
Hi again,
Ok, so I now have a staging site setup:
When using the troubleshooting option, the noindex value doesn’t show up. If I then try and enable the yoast plugin while troubleshooting, I get that error of:
Plugin actions, such as activating and deactivating, are not available while in Troubleshooting Mode.
When enabling the plugin, wordpress-seo, a site failure occurred. Because of this the change was automatically reverted.
I’ll try now to put it back to non-troubleshooting mode and disable everything else but yoast and see what it does.
Great, thanks. Still working through cloning the site now.
Hi,
I am in the process of trying to make a staging site so will report back once that is done.
Thanks
Hmm, so I enabled troubleshooting mode (whilst using Chrome) and then tried enabling just yoast seo at first. I received this message:
When enabling the plugin, wordpress-seo, a site failure occurred. Because of this the change was automatically reverted.
I then tried another plugin (gdpr banner plugin) and got the same message as above.
I then tried to do this same process using Firefox just to be safe and the same thing happened.
However, I have just noticed that I am now seeing a different bit of info on the page when I inspect it which wasn’t there before:
Admin only notice: this page does not show a meta description because it does not have one, either write it for this page specifically or go into the [SEO – Search Appearance] menu and set up a template.
Hi,
Ok, so i’ve added an exclusion for that page in the litespeed cache settings and then performed a full purge. It’s still showing as noindex so will try using the health and troubleshooting plugin next.
Hi Carl,
We are using the litespeed cache plugin (server is a litespeed server too) and I have purged the cache recently. I will see if I can exclude that page from caching and see what the behaviour is afterwards.
Thanks!
Hi Michael,
Thanks for the reply.
This page is a standard page which has our news posts added into it.
I will check to see if there are any other seo type plugins that could be conflicting with it.
I’ll run the health check plugin as well and see what comes up.
Cheers

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] reCaptcha V3 not working on siteHi Takayuki,
Sorry for the slow reply. The owner of the theme made a change for us and now it is working. Thanks for the help.

Hi Marko,
Hmm, it appears that the problem has come back somehow over the weekend. 🙁
I’ve had to disable the plugin for the meantime until we can get it sorted.
Any ideas on how this could’ve resurfaced?
Thanks
Cameron
Hi Marko,
So, it looks like the “Don’t set cookies for static files” option under browser cache was the one causing our issue.
We have a pages on our website where people can go to access class materials from our events (by using a password) and when they would enter the password it would just refresh the page but not go any further. Once I disabled that option, I could then get to the materials.
Do you foresee any problems with leaving this option unticked?
Cheers
Cameron
