It is not on wordpress.com.
However, I just spent the last couple minutes reviewing those that have subscribed and I’m thinking they are all bots. I must just be getting a sharp uptick in bot spam attempts via registration.
Think I’ll just turn it off.

Well now! That is exactly the issue I was having and I never would have guessed that JetPack hijacked my sidebar contact forms. THANK YOU so much Takayuki Miyoshi. I was out of ideas.
I deactivated that JetPack feature and downloaded the Manual Control plugin (http://ww.wp.xz.cn/extend/plugins/manual-control/) to prevent issues like this from occurring in the future.
Ok. I just added a Contact Form to the sidebar of a different site with a different theme and the same issue occurred….This has to be a WordPress/Plugin issue and I have no idea how to correct.
Please help!
