I had it set to disabled, but it was still showing. But I believe that I was using some kind of ‘cached’ version of the page. I’ve been testing on multiple browsers using their InPrivate / Incognito mode (which seems to do ‘less’ caching but still appears to do some) and after forcing a reload, it appears to be behaving itself now. Many thanks for your response and point in the right direction!
