In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Can’t Connect To SiteOK, removed it from the Jetpack site.
De-activated Jetpack then activated it.
Connected again and this time it finally connected.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Can’t Connect To SiteEven worse! I got this after removing it and then trying to do it again:
Invalid request, please go back and try again.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Can’t Connect To SiteStill not working for me. The cynic in me would suggest that it fails as soon as you choose the “Select Free” option rather than one of the paid ones…

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] Can’t Connect To SiteYep. Happening here too.

In reply to: HTTP Error on Upload/404s all over the place in the Admin PanelI’ll give it a go next time. I finally worked around it by reducing the size of the images that WordPress can’t handle (despite the fact that it does all the resizing and puts the images in the uploads folder with no problem…).
Jetpack. Well, there’s another fail: taking down the whole site when it tries to update itself, so you have to manually delete the folders and all the files and then manually upload it all again.

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] JetPack failed to installThe automated update/install does indeed download the zip file and unpack it; the installation/activation is where it fails unless it’s all done manually.
I have unlimited storage in my hosting package so that’s really not an issue.
And why have you marked this now as being Resolved when it’s clearly so very far from being resolved?
This is only an issue with the latest release, by the looks of things (although I found similar threads from years ago with the same issues).

In reply to: [Jetpack - WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth] JetPack failed to installYep. This is happening on all my WordPress self-hosted sites. Incredibly irritating! How did the coders manage to mess this up so comprehensively?
Still broken for me and I’m just getting the shorter message.

In reply to: Clicking ‘Update Page’ results in a 404I am seeing this on updates to pages and posts and new posts.

In reply to: User Avatar ??That might be the point of a Gravatar, but that might not be the way we want to operate: I always use a new e-mail address for every site I visit or comment upon just in case that site is either hacked and my e-mail address used and abused or in case the site owner decides to sell the subscriber list on.
Likewise, what might work in terms of an avatar for my personal browsing might not work for more professional site browsing.
WP should allow for user-uploadable avatars or for user-selectable avatars at the site owner’s discretion.

In reply to: Changing the link title for categoriesThanks for the pointer. That’s fixed one instance. Now I need to do the same where the individual categories are displayed with links to
<?php the_category(‘
‘) ?> listing the other categories the entries appear in (it’s using archive.php).Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Adding Categories to Static PagesThat was spot-on and does exactly what I was looking for, thanks!

In reply to: [Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Full Size Images/Clicking/WatermarkingSorry, I meant “you added the Add Full Size link in version 3.1.2“.

In reply to: [Plugin: NextGEN Gallery] Full Size Images/Clicking/Watermarking1&2: I didn’t realise you could: a problem with language, I am afraid, and my misunderstanding of the Effects tab. Now you’ve pointed me in that direction, it makes sense and works.
But…
I see from the thickbox script that you added the Add Full Size link in version 3.1.1. Do you have version 3.1.1 anywhere? That would get rid of the Full Size link that I don’t want but would keep the image resizing missing from slimbox.
3. No errors as such?
