Hello,
I realised that the problem was due to domain mapping : if I remove the domain mapping on the domain tech-taucher.com, and I simply leave the subdomain de.scuba-college.eu it works.
Help on this would be much appreciated, if anyone has an idea…
Thanks !
Worked like a charm, thanks a lot Ederson !
Looks awesome ! I’ll try that out for the next language and will share my feelings about it (in a few weeks probably)
Thanks a lot
Ah, ok. Well, for now I think it’s the only problem I have, we’ll see how it goes !
Thanks Dennis,
ByeMmm caching issue I think yes. But not enough to just clear the cache and refresh this time. I have to modify and uptade all the posts, clear the cache from time to time and it worked. But for some pages it just didn’t seem to work, strangely. For those I had to go on the German version to define the linked English page on this way.
So anyway, the matter is settled now. Good to note that there is some issue with W3 Total Cache, for the next ones who will stumble upon this topic!
Thanks Dennis,
CheersSorry, issue 2 solved. It actually works fine, probably just a caching issue (I use a caching plugin on my servor)
Issue 2: I want to display choice of language version with the widget, and have “Flag+language”. So in the options, I chose “Display: flag and description”, then for my English website entered “English” as description.
However what shows on my front page is “flag + en_GB”, and not “flag + English”.
What’s going on ?

In reply to: Multisite Language Switcher: change link colour and flagThanks for the help Dennis. Ok, I get the quick and dirty solution, I wanted to understand the other one you were talking about though, which is cleaner (with the en_GB file). Can you please give some detail on that ?
As for the link, I indeed have a code like the one you give. However it opens the link in a new tab. I don’t understand why it behaves this way. What code to I need to write for this ?

In reply to: Multisite Language Switcher: change link colour and flagI have the same issue, and I don’t really understand the solution. Can you please give some more details ?
I was thinking that I could chose the flag with the option “Custom URL for flag-images” but this doesn’t work. I inserted “http://mydomain/wp-content/plugins/multisite-language-switcher/flags/gb.png” and instead of this I get in the source code : “http://mydomain/wp-content/plugins/multisite-language-switcher/flags/gb.png/us.png”. So obviously it doesn’t find the flag…
Is this a bug ?
Also, when I click on the flag it opens the translated website in a new window (though only when going English=>German, German=>English is ok). Do you know why that happens ? How can I fix it ?
Thanks !
This is what I’ve done so far, but it’s not sufficient: it doesn’t import the whole site. Here’s the complete process I have to take :
– Export and import (pages, post, menus, tags…)
– Export and import theme options (luckily I’m using Graphene which allows to do so)
– Copy the NextGen Gallery tables to get the galleries working in the new website
– Recreate widgets (thanks to a plugin that allows export/import of widget options)
– Recreate manually a slider I use on the HP
– Reset some plugin options who need configuration…
A bit of a hassle really… At least 3hours I guess. Is there no faster way to copy the whole site ? I was thinking that if you want exactly the same again it shouldn’t be too long to just recreate.
Well I was running the same caching pluggin before (W3 Total Cache) and it was working fine… I’ll find another solution, thanks for your help !
Cool, thanks again 🙂
Cheers,
ThomasWorked perfectly, sorry for not having read thoroughly the post you mentionned before… (I always get a bit scared when I see php lines 🙂 )
I copied the file meteor-slide.php in the “root” of my theme directory (where there is the index.php file). I’m using Suffusion theme, so I put it in the folder “Suffusion”. Is that correct ? (there are some subfolders to this folder such as “admin”, “custom”, “functions” etc, I was wondering if I had to put “meteor-slide.php” in one of those ?
Thanks a lot for you help and great pluggin !
Thomas
