In reply to: [WooCommerce] Problem with permalinks and product categoriesHi Tom,
Great you have found even more problems! 😛
I just tested this on my website, but I do not have the same problem. So, it seems we are experiencing different problems. 🙁
I still haven’t found out why this is happening on my website. I hope you will find a solution to your problems.
Cheers, Casper

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Problem with permalinks and product categoriesIt is strange indeed. My site works though, however, I fear for my Google rankings with all these strange URLs. Maybe someone can shed some light on that.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Tom!

Please help!

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Problem with permalinks and product categoriesI am also using the Polylang plugin, together with the Customizr theme. I don not use the Woocommerce Polylang integration, but a custom bridge between Customizr and Polylang.
Disabling the Polylang plugin does not fix the problem though. So, that does not seem to be the issue.
Still no clue how to fix this…

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Problem with permalinks and product categoriesCould this be a language issue?
Since I have my WordPress configured for usage with Dutch as language, the product_category is called product_categorie.When I change my website language to English and reset my permalink structure (by saving the settings again), it does change the product categories. Suddenly the product categories pages get a 404 error.
These are my permalink settings:
Postname: http://blixtar.nl/%postname%/
Shop base with category: http://blixtar.nl/shop/product-category/sample-product/Maybe this helps solving this issue…

In reply to: Problem with permalinks and product categoriesThanks again! I am not sure if your assumption is correct. However, I asked the same question on the Woocommerce forum. So, let’s see what they come up with.

In reply to: Problem with permalinks and product categoriesHi James, thanks for the suggestion! All help is appreciated.
So, you think this is a Woocommerce only problem? Or is this due to the way WordPress handles it’s permalinks?
I will ask this question on the Woocommerce forum for sure. Thanks! Casper
Hi Chouby,
Thanks for the great and easy explanation. I managed to get it all working now. You are the best! 🙂
Thanks a lot!
Best regards,
CasperThanks again Chouby,
I get it now. Would there be a way to use the Polylang translation table? I would rather use that because it’s a eassier solution and keeps all my translations in the same place.
I managed to translate two strings in the snippet by adding pll_ to the variable. What would be the right way to do this? I am trying to understand how this works. The translation table picks up the strings from the code automatically. How can I use Polylang across my entire site?
Thanks again. I hope this will help a lot of people understanding how this works.
Hi Chouby,
Ah, that might be the problem. I did not know what my theme ” slug” is. I tried to find my theme slug by Googling it, but could not find anything. I tried several names, but it did not seem to have an effect (for the shopping cart part). So, I figured it was just some way to make the program identify my changes or something. Would the theme slug be the name? So, for the Customizr theme, would the slug be “customizr”? If not, where do I find this?
What do you mean by “Once it is done just use the plugin codestyling localization to translate the new strings (don’t forget to rescan).”? Would that just be using the ” String Translation” tab in Polylang?
Sorry for all the (obvious) questions. I am really quite new to this and really appreciate your help! Thanks!
CasperHi Chrystl,
Yes, I use that setting. What would be the connecting to my problem? All the other things on the page get translated, apart from that one thing.
Curious to hear your opinion. 🙂
Thanks for your help!

In reply to: [WooCommerce] WooCommerce or Polylang problem?Hi Waldoalvarez00,
Have you tried this solution? Did it work?
I am having the same problem with Woocommerce and Polylang. Both great plugins, but unfortunately Woocommerce has “hardcoded” links to other pages like checkout, cart, my-account, etc. If I change those to another language in the backend it works for that language. You can see it when you hover over the buttons in the shop. They keep redirecting to the default language.
I am quite new to PHP, so I can not code this myself, but it seems to be a quite easy problem.
Do you need to do anything else? I guess you need the pages to exist in the other language too? So far, I have tried adding this snippet to functions.php, but no luck. Am I missing something here?
Hi there,
I am currently testing the free version of Smart Slider 2. It seems packed with features. That’s great!I just can’t figure out if the free version supports full width sliders. I do see full page sliders is a PRO feature, but reading the explanation this does not necessarily mean the same.
Can you please tell me if full width sliders are supported by the free version? If so, how do I enable it? I keep on getting some small bars on the left and right side of the slider.
