These feeds I’m having issues with:
ICSx5 parses all events at 1:00 AM local time (Europe/Berlin) most of the time. Whether or not this issue occurs seems to depend on the timezone observances in the iCalendar timezone definition. This issue doesn’t occur with calendar feeds using proper timezone definitions from http://www.tzurl.org (or subsets like I listed in the issue description above) but it seems one main issue is that your plugin’s timezone definition starts after the first event in the list.

Thanks, that worked; but I wonder why you don’t simply give the body tag a class “custom-background” dynamically and set transparent background in css only for body.custom-background… 😉
