I tried once again. The sizes decreased by a percentage but I think this is an intrinsic issue with PNG resizing. I have been trying many methods for resizing, different libraries etc. All methods seemed to generate a bigger image, much bigger than the original. So, I started to use GIF instead. At least until I can implement a better solution for it PNG.
