I just upgraded to 3.7.1 and the problem is resolved. Thanks!
I changed my mind and downgraded to the 3.5 version as indicated. I will monitor for any problems and upgrade at some future date when it appears that the issues are resolved. Thanks for help!
Thanks for the suggestions. I did not realize that that was the place to find older versions. For the time being I am just going to fore go the onboarding wizard and go through the tabs manually. If I find that other things fail I will try the process of elimination.
Same problem. Both signing up for the Yoast newsletter and continuing past the first page of the installation wizard produced nothing but the loading circle forever. The only plugin I am using that seems like it might possibly affect things is Wordfence but I do not have any specific reason to suspect it.
