Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [WP Hide Post] recent update plugin failI was getting 500 Server Error also. Had to get help from my host which helped me identify this update to the plugin as the issue. Had to delete it from cPannel web tools. Site up and running again without issue after plugin deleted.
It is truly too bad as I really like the idea of the plugin. In concept it is a home run. Unfortunately, it just isn’t ready I guess.
I wanted to return here and post very happily that ProPhoto once again demonstrated why they are #1 in the WordPress Theme business.
After a simple email exchange, Steve at ProPhoto took the time to look deeper into my issue to find the answer to my problem and was able fix it – and it didn’t even have to do with ProPhoto as it was a All in One SEO setting in the performance tab! I’ve been a long time ProPhoto user because I don’t have the time to learn complicated code nor have the resources to have a new site developed every few years. Their backend is user friendly enough and they have TONS of tutorials AND free tech support. In this rare case, the tutorials did help but they stepped up into action and solved my issue. Turns out it was a simple setting I thought logically needed to be disabled when in fact it needed to be the opposite.
Thank you ProPhoto!
Hello again wpsmort,
This is what I did. While I have disabled ProPhoto’s SEO functionality, it seems to continue to be a blister in my efforts to use All in One SEO. ProPhoto has been an incredible company with work with over the past 5-6 years and they service thousands of photographers so I have no doubt that they take any problems with ProPhoto seriously. I know they are busy and do hope that they look deeper into my issue vs simply direct me to a tutorial.
It is clear that the -1-1 is visible in the source code on my site. My hopes are they take a peek and are able to advise what to do next.
Thank you for your reply Steve. And thank you for your support message via email. As I explained in my reply, ProPhoto continues to override SEO markup despite my turning it off as directed in the instructions you provided.
It is true that ProPhoto does offer very good SEO capabilities. All in One SEO does as well and is a plugin that is used by many many folks and is a plugin I’ve used for a number of years before ProPhoto5 without any issue.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts. The free tech support is a HUGE benefit to being a ProPhoto user. Thank you for that.
That is very kind of you. Thank you greatly! Still waiting to hear from developer (ProPhoto) and theme developer (La Luna). Thank you for your attention to this issue.
And that magic I was hoping for with the purchase of the Pro version of ALL in One SEO did not work for me either.
This is unfortunate. Thank you for assisting me wpsmort. I’ve notified ProPhoto and La Luna per your suggestion. I’ve also purchased the Pro version in hopes that it will fast track a fix or some additional support.
I’m sorry to report that the suggestions wpsmort offered were already enabled or did not work.
Really pulling my hair out on this one.
I’m going to purchase the Pro version in hopes that is solves my issues. At the very least it will get me support from Semper Fi.
Thoughts?
Thank you wpsmort! I will give this a try and report back. Is this something I should notify the theme creator about?
I have a purchased theme from ProPhoto and I have no idea how to do what you describe above.
Will the paid version of All in One SEO fix this issue?
I am having the same issue with All in One SEO Pack version 2.2.3.1. For me the issue is site wide. This began happening 2 days ago. Previously, my site title and post titles & meta were reading as I expected.
I’ve tried deactivating the plugin and reactivating. I’ve deleted it and then re-installed it. No matter, All in One SEO does not seem to have any influence on my site.
My site: http://www.christopherdavidphoto.com
You will note that the home page title is my URL yet it should read: Premier Keene Wedding Photographer.
Additional example: if you visit “Featured Blog” the post title reads: Marcela & Matt | Engagement yet it should read (a la SEO Pack) Fall Engagement Session at Ashuelot River Park, Keene, NH.How best to proceed?
Thank you in advance.
