I will not go back to storefront for now, so this report is for the devs benefit
It was an automatic update (I didn’t click update)
Maybe the update was bad and the theme itself is ok
My two cents – recheck it on a multisite, maybe it wasn’t checked on a multisite before release

That is a good tutorial, but it doesn’t answer my question – where can I find the updraft logs of the “Test S3 Connection” button ?
It works on my multisite, although it has limited functionality, anyway, I tested also the full version (using GPL) and the same bug is still there.
UpdraftPlus warning: This is a WordPress multi-site (a.k.a. network) installation. WordPress Multisite is supported, with extra features, by UpdraftPlus Premium, or the Multisite add-on. Without upgrading, UpdraftPlus allows every blog admin who can modify plugin settings to backup (and hence access the data, including passwords, from) and restore (including with customized modifications, e.g. changed passwords) the entire network. (This applies to all WordPress backup plugins unless they have been explicitly coded for multisite compatibility).
I have a VPS server from Amazon with 2 cores and 4gb memory, the site is 1.3gb, but I don’t get more than 200 visits / day.
I have used all tips found online including your link, so I configured the BIN.. something (to use external zip executable I think) and have limited the splitting of files to 25mb instead of the 400mb defaulted.
Looking in the logs, the zip is done successfully in less than 4 minutes, then it does endless retries to contact the Amazon S3 and the problem is that it hogs my CPU for several hours making my site unresponsive.
This works for me as a temporary band-aid

Ahh, ok, thank you for clarifying this one.
It is a bad practice not to update the plugin officially, it is also good your users will see many updates, I always prefer a plugin which is updated frequently than a plugin which seldom updates.

It notifies me again that there are files changed when I use the click to chat plugin
It thinks all files are changedIt seems it takes from the repository the wrong version, thus it thinks files are changed
This is a BUG!
I have several sites with this plugin, I tried several times to reinstall – it helps for several days, then the warnings come back
Please check with this plugin for several days – you will see it
