Thank you for your response, however, I do not have an option for ‘user notification’.
When my users try to log in they receive an error message: ‘The email could not be sent. Your site may not be correctly configured to send emails’. This user is an editor.
I also have an administrator that is struggling to log in. When she signs in she is not seeing the back end to edit the site.

Yes, I did try that and the summary didn’t change.
