Hi – here’s why. . .and not almost identical. . . we have a daily feed that works great with summary feed format; we post 3-5 articles a day and the summary format is fine (keeps the feedburner email short). We have subscribers who like the small taste daily and this helps drive traffic to our site. We also do a weekly recap (using the “Instant Weekly Roundup” plugin, which we love ;-). We have others who prefer the weekly roundup, and we think the “full” feed would work better for them. The subscription for the weekly version gets just the 1 weekly recap post. That post is text and then the links to the articles. If their weekly feed email showed the full recap it would still drive traffic to our site; with the article links we think we would get more traffic.
Best thing for us would be a plugin that let us set a couple of feed settings for each feed: number of posts to include in the feed, and whether it’s a full or summary feed. If you have seen that – please point us in the right direction! Thanks!
