In reply to: Catastrophic: unresponsive VIDEO tag causes UNWANTED autoplayFYI, here is the response from TinyMCE:
“I think the shortcodes are part of the wp video embedding. If it can’t be reproduced on fiddle.tinymce.com then it’s likely an issue with wordpress and better that you report the issue there. If they think it’s a tinymce issue we are likely to get the report back to us. I’m closing this since it’s out of scope of this project we can re-open this if needed.”
The question that needs an answer is this: Why will not VISUAL mode of the editor accept the changes made to autoplay in the TEXT mode? Which entity is responsible for the VIDEO EDITING feature in the editor?
UNSOLVED, and there is no way for me to understand who is responsible for what. Hopefully, a WP technician will respond and give a lead.

In reply to: Catastrophic: unresponsive VIDEO tag causes UNWANTED autoplayI don’t know if any plugins are relevant for injecting a video in a text, except the editor itself. I use tinyMCE. Could it be that plugin changing things in good faith? It does change (delete) html code if it doesn’t like it, so why not put on a check mark on autoplay as well?
However, tinyMCE forum at GitHub rejects having anything to do with it. I am at loss.

In reply to: Catastrophic: unresponsive VIDEO tag causes UNWANTED autoplayI found today that WP will not obey the autplay=”off” that was injected in the TEXT version of the editor. Therefore, today, I went through all videos in the VISUAL mode and toggled off autoplay. Hence, you are not experiencing the trouble.
I am curious as to why the TEXT and the VISUAL mode are not synced?
I also wonder why WP puts videos and audios to autoplay =”on” per default. It was a change done approx 2 years ago, and it is not according to user manual, thus, a bug.
Now I am pondering if there is a way to return to the default OFF and make it work for all videos (perhaps 70 videos in total, a lot of soccer videos of kids)
Is there such an opportunity?
Thanks for trying to help.

Same here, however, i can get the slideshow example working in the nextgen gallery view plugin “extension”, which is kind of promising.
