I was able to fix this by commenting out lines 384-392 in mercor’s functions.php:

function pmc_formatter($content) {

    $new_content = wptexturize(wpautop($content));

    return $new_content;
}

add_filter('the_content', 'pmc_formatter', 99);

The plugin now appears to work:

You’re able to play the video without leaving that page? For me (using FF) it just shows an image from the video without any controls:
