@aklpl ,
We’re very sorry for the delay on this. Our team is still gathering more information on a possible solution for the issue you are experiencing with new window warnings and WP Bakery.
This has proved a bit trickier than originally anticipated. We will keep this request open and follow up as soon as we are able.
Hello Sam, thank you for your question. Here is some general guidance that I hope you find helpful:
While adding text-to-speech or offering something that allows users to alter color schemes on a website can both be helpful features, these are generally considered “supplemental” in nature. The best and most ideal solution will always be to ensure that the default experience meets commonly accepted accessibility standards.
For color contrast, meeting WCAG 2.2 AA contrast ratios should be the default state. Once that is achieved, if you want to take things to the next level and offer users a “high contrast mode” toggle that ratchets up the contrast even more, that is a very nice thing to do.
This support forum is specifically for questions or issues related to the Accessibility Checker plugin, and not general accessibility questions. For that reason, I am going to go ahead and mark this ticket as resolved.
If you need further assistance with this, please feel free to reach out to me via the Equalize Digital contact form, and I will be glad to share some additional resources and links with you at that time. 😃
Thank you for your patience, @johnstaples !
This is unusual and not something we’ve seen before. We are still looking into this on our end. 🙂
Narada,
Thank you for adding to this thread and for sharing the error information from your site. I’m hopeful that it’ll help us track down the source of the issue.
I’m asking our CTO Steve to take a look at this. He will review the error information you shared and may follow up with additional questions.
Diana,
Thank you for sharing that information. Based on what I can see, it looks like this site is running on PHP 7.4 which is ~4 versions behind the current PHP release (8.3). PHP 7.4 reached end of life 2 years ago, and stopped receiving security releases 1 year ago.
Generally speaking, we strive to maintain backward compatibility for the most recent three releases of WordPress and PHP.
- Try running a scan again with your browser’s console open, and see if you can capture the specific error code(s) in the console.
- If feasible, on a staging environment (i.e. not your live site) try upgrading to PHP version 8.1 + and running a scan. You may also need to check other areas of your site when upgrading PHP to ensure nothing else is amiss.
I hope this information is helpful and gives us some things to try next as we work together to resolve this issue.
Hi there,
Our team would like to investigate this. Could you please send us your system information file? You can do that by going to Accessibility Checker > Settings > System Info.
You can email that information to dev (at) equalize digital (dot) com. Please also link directly to this support topic thread in the body of the email so that we don’t miss it, and post a comment on this thread when you’ve sent the email.
Thank you!
Hi there! Glad you are impressed with our software.
Since this is a question regarding the paid version of Accessibility Checker (which does offer a bulk scanning feature), we’d love it if you could submit your question via this form on our website:
There are definitely options for this and we’d be happy to discuss those with you.
