I believe this feedback refers to a support ticket that our team discussed internally at length. You are right, it was frustrating on both sides not to be able to reach a definitive technical explanation, despite the time invested.
For clarity, here is a summary of the issue and what was investigated on our side. You reported an inconsistency when using machine translation with nested ACF blocks: in some cases, child blocks inside a parent ACF block (using InnerBlocks) were not sent to DeepL, especially when the parent block had no ACF fields of its own. You also observed that adding a “dummy” ACF field to the parent block worked around the issue on your side.
Throughout the ticket, our support team clearly identified your scenario (a parent block without ACF fields using InnerBlocks to contain ACF child blocks). To better understand the issue, we attempted to reproduce it in our environment. Despite using your files and our internal “Dumper” tool (to inspect what content was sent to DeepL), the issue never occurred on our test environments. The strings were consistently sent for translation.
Without being able to reproduce the behavior on our side, it becomes extremely difficult to identify and fix a potential bug. In such cases, having access to a full site copy can be very valuable, which is why we suggested investigating further on a duplicated version of your site, of course with your agreement.
We understand that you identified a workaround and chose not to pursue further investigation at that time. That said, we remain fully available to help and would be happy to continue the investigation using a copy of your site. We are genuinely interested in understanding the root cause of this issue, as it has been puzzling us, so please do not hesitate to contact us.

The Polylang error “Warning: Attempt to read property ‘ID’ on null” can occur when Polylang expects a valid ID property for an object, but receives a null value instead. This can happen if another plugin or the theme creates an object that should have an ID property, but does not define it properly, resulting in a null value for that object. When Polylang tries to read the ID property of that object, it triggers the error.
You should switch to a default theme and deactivate all plugins, mu-plugins, custom code except Polylang. You shouldn’t have the error anymore.
Then activate your parent theme, child theme, plugins one by one until you reproduce the error.

There isn’t any compatibility in Polylang for the WooCommerce plugin. That means that Polylang is not built to generate translated variations.

Note : You mentioned WooCommerce Multilingual (WPML addon?). If so, please note that you can’t use two different multilingual plugins simultaneously. Things won’t work as expected; you will encounter issues.

Just to let you know that we have just reproduced the issue on our end (thanks again to @patiowebdesign). We will fix it in the next version of Polylang. While waiting for it, you can revert to version 3.4.5 as suggested by @patiowebdesign.

I’ve confirmed that I was able to replicate the issue on my end as well. We’ll fix it in a next version of Polylang.

This is a known issue which will be fixed in a future release.
Are you using the “Language is set by the content” ?

That’s probably because your content has no language.
You will find in our documentation section “Getting started” all the elements you might need to install and start using Polylang => https://polylang.pro/doc-category/getting-started/
It is essential you assign a language to your content. There are two ways to do this once the plugin is installed:
- You can assign your language to your content by running the wizard again as explained here (this is the preferred way) => https://polylang.pro/doc/setup-wizard/#content-step
- Or you can assign a language to existing content following this documentation https://polylang.pro/doc/assign-a-language-to-an-existing-content/#set-default-language
