I tried this and seems to work for the moment. Add my wordpress site to pop-ups in internet explorer options.I am able to use the image editor and link button to add links to text. I got it from this link in Microsoft support forum.

Your not alone Emilio..I have got the same problem since installing Windows 8.1..and can’t add links either.
