Actually I think I resolved the issue. After much reading I discovered that having mixed case letters in a MySQL database can cause problems, so I started all over again with a new (all lower case) Table prefix. The WooCommerce plugin installed without a problem.
It’s a slow learning process for me. But having forum members assistance is invaluable. So thank you for your prompt reply. I hope I may be able to help other fellow travelers, when I become more experienced with this web stuff.
Thank you for your prompt help! The free WooCommerce Weight Based Shipping plug-in solved my problem. I now have 2 shipping prices : 100 to 400g and 500g to 1000g and a local pick-up only for larger amounts (no shipping).
