It’s a custom theme I stitched together over the Underscores starter theme with CSS from Materialize. I’m obviously not a professional, but I’ve been using Future/post-expirator for a long while now without issue and haven’t made any theme changes.

Sure thing. This is a custom post type, but it also occurs on regular posts.
It displays in the published post, so I’m afraid that I won’t be able to ignore it.

It generates the custom field when I update any post with a future expiration date selected. If I delete the custom field, it pops in again after updating the post. It’s then viewable in the metadata for the post.
