In short, no… the way the program is written now, the link is necessary to create the mouse-over info box. It’s possible to do through CSS, but may require some extensive modifications… no way to know until I try delving into the code.
Looks like an issue with the theme… have you checked to make sure wp_head() and wp_footer() are being called in that theme?
