In reply to: Same website 6 different data bases share content??A friend of mine developed this plugin that sounds like it would do what you want: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/posts-in-page/
I haven’t tried it yet, but it sounds like it might work.As I understand it, you have one domain setup with six WordPress installs in sub-directories.
A MultiSite works a little different than that.
As a MultiSite administrator, you login to a single WordPress install and you have control over all the websites installed under that one umbrella.
There is also a MultiSite plugin that allows a user to register on one of the sites and they’re automatically enrolled (registered) in all the sites. You could convert your primary WordPress installation and then migrate your individual WordPress installs into it.
There’s a plugin that does that too: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wordpress-importer/What susanwrotethis said.
When you install a plugin at the Network Administrator level, that plugin will be available to the all websites.
But Surprise! When you go to the sub-site and look at it’s listed plugins, you don’t see it, right?
Wait a minute. . .and look at the column to the left and you will notice the plugin controls are listed there.
Look carefully at your sub-sites and you’ll see what we’re trying to make clear.Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: How to 'turn-off' 'Administrator'?I think it will be more trouble than it’s worth to do what you are asking.
Google: how to disable wordpress multisite
Read through the answers regarding the process that you want to undertake.
You might be a lot better off by spending time on fixing what is wrong with your third site.
Start a new topic for your exact problem and try to go with your MustiSite setup – I think in the long run this will be better.Multisite is a little confusing at first – especially how some plug-in work with in it. Spend a little time studying it’s Menu structure and the menu structure of the websites within it.

In reply to: Multisite subpage differs from originalI wouldn’t touch “free” – they are worth nothing but trouble except for the most basic html sites.
Look for a host that will allow a free trail period and read the fine print in their sign up.Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: Export list of users and their sitesWhat I do is this:
Select the table which contains the email addresses and export it to a cvs file.
Open the cvs file with Excel (or similar software) and edit out everything that I don’t need.Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: Multisite subpage differs from originalIt’s throwing an error now: http://www.hostinger.co.uk/error_403
I guess that you’re working on it at the moment?
My experience with shared hosting is that, occasionally, the site loading time increases dramatically but doesn’t doesn’t do what yours does.Forum: Networking WordPress
In reply to: Multisite subpage differs from originalWhen using Chrome, the problem did not appear on the first viewing. I closed the browser and opened the site four or five more times and the problem appears about 50-percent of the time. And 50-percent appears perfect.
I tried it using FireFox and had a problem every time i viewed the site.
I think the line about using cookies is causing a problem. Maybe if to eliminate that line about cookies and try it a few times it could narrow the problem down?Patrick, that is one way to do it. Unfortunately, I’ve found that certain theme information data count is lost (that part is too detailed for discussion here). The theme has a “view counter” that is lost with the WordPress > Tools >Export Import method.
Instead, I have to go to the database, and export the SQL file.
In MultiSite, I have to import the SQL file.
That method will export/import everything. (Using phpMyAdmin)Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: One database – multiple instances of WP under one domainIt’s a different theme for each instance of WordPress.
First is a news / magazine theme.
Second is a classifieds theme.
Third a jobs theme.
I’m afraid Multisite does not lend itself to that setup? Thanks for the suggestion. Still wondering about how this affects server use. . .

In reply to: IIS7.5 localhost auto update problems (cannot find wp-content)I’m using XXAMP on IIs7.5 and auto-update will download the WP zip file and hangs on “unpacking”. It simply hangs.
Auto-update worked okay with Themes that had updates.
I’m at a loss as to how to auto-update.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [discover] HTML in "Welcome page"?I too would like to put html in the text boxes – actually I want to run an inline script.
I can’t use it the way it is now – I need to modify the text boxes.
How to?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Add comment in Admin area "link" button failsYes of course. I meant Twenty Twelve (not Twenty Twenty as I posted).
I don’t know about millions of others, but have you tried that approach described in the first post?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Add comment in Admin area "link" button failsIf so, then WordPress is broken. The link tab doesn’t work, or the Admin “Comment” box should not be there.
