In reply to: Beginner question about changing themesWhether you need to “black out” or redo customizations after a theme update depends on how you’ve implemented those customizations and the update mechanism of the theme. Using child themes or theme options can minimize the need to redo work after updates. Always check the documentation or support resources provided with your theme for specific instructions on handling updates.

In reply to: ‘Home page’ vs ‘Posts page’ confusionHi @steerpike58,
When the first option is left as default, the theme’s homepage functions normally. In some themes, this default setting means that the homepage displays as intended. The second option, when set as default, typically designates the blog posts page of the theme. When you make changes, you can create a new homepage in the first section and set it accordingly. For the second option, you can create a blog page and select it as the page that displays all the posts.

In reply to: Beginner question about changing themesHi @glennfulford,
I have a suggestion for you. you can start to blank the theme. because when we start with a blank theme every setting gets it and you can also try to install the theme without dummy data or any demo import.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: [BuddyX] Site Sidebar for HomepageHi Mungbean,
Theme doesn’t have specific sidebars for single pages.
please choose the homepage in the default page template and you can try this plugin -https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/custom-sidebars/. Create a separate sidebar https://prnt.sc/257pslz then set sidebar location https://prnt.sc/257pw8v.
