it’s currently behind a htaccess password because it’s a dev site, the details for these are:
username: afc
password: NewSite2024
On the homepage you can see a sign-up form in the footer; there’s also a ‘subscribe’ button in the top header that opens a pop-up containing the same form. If I fill out the footer form and click ‘submit’ I don’t see the thank-you message, but if I then open the pop-up after filling out the footer form I can see the thank-you message in the popup.
Clicking submit is subscribing people to the list, but they don’t know they are being subscribed as there aren’t any visual cues.
It’s also worth mentioning that this won’t be the only instance of us displaying the form more than once on a page, it will also be included in articles and on archive pages e.g. https://afc-new.makeaspectacle.co.uk/community/equipment-finance/

Sorry – quick follow-up – I found it! I had to go into built-in variables and then it wasn’t where I expected (it’s not in alphabetical order for some reason) but once I selected it for one of the triggers it auto-populated for the others.

Thanks for your response. I’m still struggling to work out how I can set “event” as a variable in the trigger.

I’m unsure what I need to select in the first of the three boxes on the final row. There’s no option to just use “event” – do I need to use the “(Advanced) Cookie – Statistics” variable?
I tried setting up a new trigger but I run into the same issue. I watched the video on your help page but that first box was pre-populated with “Event” – which it looks like it should be in the import as well, but for some reason it’s not finding it.

Thanks for that. I used the code snippet and changed the link to #, which keeps the pop-up open but then it doesn’t seem to realise that I’m logged in.
I added a js snippet to add the logged-in class to the body when the ‘login’ button is clicked but it doesn’t feed through my account information.
I think I’m answering my own question here – there has to be some kind of page refresh in order for WordPress to be able to display logged-in information on the current page, am I right?
I’m trying to work out how best I can do this – I’m currently triggering the pop-up by adding a body class when a button on the page is clicked, so I could add that body class on page refresh. But the pop-up has a number of stages and the login prompt isn’t the first stage, so I’m not sure I can feed in the information captured before login, which doesn’t seem to be saved on page refresh. Sorry, I’m just musing out loud here rather than asking you to provide a solution!

Ahh, I see, that makes a lot of sense. I didn’t previously have the blocks enabled, you’re right.
So if I enable blocks on all pages and posts, then insert the shortcode in the ad area, and set automatic display to “none” it will only show the shortcode ad, it won’t display them twice, is that correct?

Many thanks for your response. In that case it’s obviously something to do with my website / my server, as I can’t import posts into carryonkayaking.com using the author feed or the main feed.
Is there anything you can suggest in terms of how I could troubleshoot this? I’m not entirely sure where to start, so any advice you’re able to offer would be appreciated!
