Oh thanks! Turns out my instance was affected by a conflict with the [gallery] shortcode which is a separate issue.
Thanks for explaining. It’s frustrating how invisible this requirement is. On my local dev, I can activate Tiled Galleries but it does absolutely nothing of course. Took finding this thread to appreciate why.
