I scouted around and found 123-reg.co.uk who are offering WordPress hosting for £1 per month here in the UK. This sounds like a good deal, except it’s not on a dedicated host so no root access.
My question is: can I do everything I want without root access?
You could certainly direct your same questions to their sales department and see what they say. The sales department for my website hosting provider was very helpful in telling me what we needed to do for me to use WP. Such questions could be a good test of how good their support might be.
