Just to clarify, the free plan includes 50,000 characters per month, which is shown on our pricing page. If GSpeech is enabled automatically across many posts or pages, the limit can be reached faster because real audio files are generated from your content. Please note that this is a monthly limit, so audio generation continues again when your monthly quota resets. It is not a permanent limitation.

However, you are absolutely right about one thing – showing an “Audio limit has been exceeded” message to website visitors is not the experience we want either. We are already improving this behavior so such notifications are shown only to website administrators, and do not affect the professional appearance of your website.

When you move your site to a new domain, you need to update the URL option for the website.

Please go to the GSpeech Online Dashboard:
https://gspeech.io/dashboard

Open your site and under the Settings section update the URL value to the new production domain.

Then, to apply the changes to cached sessions as well, go to:
WordPress Admin → GSpeech → Cloud Console → Settings and click Save.

This will refresh the cache index and apply the new domain to all sessions.

After that, newly generated audios will appear with the new URL in the Audios section. The old audios will remain there as archived entries.

Here is how the GSpeech quota works:

1. Audio is generated only when a reader clicks the Play button.
The first click triggers text-to-speech generation and counts the characters for that post.
Once the audio file is created, it can be played unlimited times without using any additional characters.

2. The number of readers does NOT affect character usage
Character usage is based only on how many articles are converted into audio, not how many times the audio is played.

3. What happens when the monthly quota is reached?

• Already generated audio files continue to work normally.
• New posts that have not been converted yet will show a message saying that the character quota has been exceeded.
• Next month, the quota resets automatically, and new audio can be generated again.
