Apparently you forgot to clean your cash, because your CSS for the plugin wasn’t up to date.
I checked myself using a parameter in the URL of your website, and I can see that:
Image will be deleted in 6 months FYI The only issue I see is your theme adding a pseudo element in all the paragraph. Honestly, looking at how the theme is made, I would encourage you to update it to something more modern, if you can.
I’ve made an update just for your theme, but it won’t be published right now. Next time you see an update of the plugin, it’ll fix this small blank space before the icon.
Have a good evening 🙂

In reply to: [Social Integration for BlueSky] Big grey blob appeared@hammersmithsociety thanks for the report. I’m gonna adjust the styling based on your website to better control how SVG react and should be managed by default.
Hoping the next SVG implemented will inherit this styling and you’ll never suffer from a weird visual behaviour.
Thanks for the tests again, I’ll try to push an update really soon (this evening or tomorrow)

I published a new 2.2.1 yesterday. I thought at first it was a bug from the plugin but it’s just a case I didn’t cover : document attachments to a bluesky post.
I tried something but I couldn’t test it in real condition. If you have the time to try and update the plugin and cache 🙏🏻
Thank youuuu (hope the SVG of the file icon doesn’t explode 😂)

In reply to: [Social Integration for BlueSky] Big grey blob appeared@hammersmithsociety That’s weird in you case. Nothing should be displayed there is there is no image.
Are you using the widget or the Gutenberg block?
Sorry for that. I’m lacking information to reproduce the bug on my side.

In reply to: [Social Integration for BlueSky] Big grey blob appeared@hammersmithsociety version 2.2.0 is being released. Should arrive to you soon.
Don’t forget to clean the cache. I’ve also fixed an additional aspect on your theme. (The globe icon should now be a globe, not a dot)

It means you might have a cache on your website to deliver the page faster. Try to find the cache options (a plugin or the host) and clean it up.
Usually when you have no cache for logged in users, and cache for the rest of the worlds, it’s on a plugin option.
Tell me what you found 😊 It might be useful for other folks coming around this topic.

In reply to: [Social Integration for BlueSky] Future plugin development and updates?Hello @artblackman ,
Mastodon uses another protocol if I’m not mistaking. I don’t plan on making one since it takes me a lot of time to create an maintain. And all that work is currently unpaid ^^
I mean, I’m grateful for the approximate 100€ of donation people send me per year, but it doesn’t make it a full time job 😀
Thank you for your understanding!

In reply to: [Social Integration for BlueSky] Big grey blob appearedHey @hammersmithsociety ,
Just fixed the CSS of the plugin to avoid having issues with theme compatibility.
The problem was coming from a general CSS rule on your theme for sizing SVG images (the small dot is an SVG file of a small globe representing the link). The plugin now override this value when SVG are from the plugin 🙂Don’t hesitate to share this kind of bug with me, it’s pretty fast to fix and will improve compatibility with other themes as well.
Step by step, we improve the plugin together.
Would love to have a small review from you, here, to support the plugin, if you have the time of course. 🙂PS. it should come with the new 2.1.1 version of the plugin.

Thanks for the report. Seems like a tiny icon went too big on your website.
I’m out for a sport session. Let me come back to you during the afternoon/evening with a solution.
Thanks for your patience.

Not sure what you mean about the repetition. You mean the small card and the custom text above? It’s because the custom text above can be different if you decide to customize it 🙂
In the future, I plan on giving the user (you) the ability to customize the default message with some kind of template.BTW. I just saw a message from the WordPress Moderation who removed your review on this plugin. I’m sorry about that, their message was a bit harsh. Don’t hesitate to post a new review if you have the time, it helps make the plugin more visible and motivate development.
Hello @artblackman
Thanks for the feedback. With the 2.0.0 (2.0.2 already) coming soon, you should be able to log in with e-mail or handle, and password (not recommended) or app password (preferably).
Let me know in the support section if you have any problem with the connection. Still fine-tuning things in there 🙂

In reply to: [Social Integration for BlueSky] Well done, but there are disadvantagesHey @artblackman 🙂
Sorry for the delay, I was working on finishing the version 2.0 with some new features I had in mind for multi-account and auto-syndication based on categories.
- Mastodon : it’s another story for another day. I need to focus on stabilizing this plugin first. Once I get that, I’ll think about it 😊
- For the placeholder image : what do you think of having one by default, but allowing you to upload a custom image for matching your website identity? (Would be available in the plugin settings)
- I didn’t have time yet to try with your avatar to see if the image size itself can be the culprit. Will do it soon.
Thanks again for your suggestions and patience 😊
