I just wanted to comment on this, I’ve just experienced the same issue with the slider this morning.
After some testing and checking what has changed over the last 24 hours, I’ve found it was WP-Optimize update which was at the time 22 hours ago. After completely disabling the plugin and it restored the slider. I then enabled/disabled different features of the plugin to pin-point the issue as there were no visible errors when inspecting the page, but after testing a bit further, it was the Page Cache being enabled which caused it. You can either roll back the WP-Optimize update, or what I have done is use a different caching plugin while keeping the other features of the WP-Optimize until another update may fix it.
