Thank you for dealing with this so quickly. I’ll keep an eye out for the update 🙂

Oh and it does the same thing if you try to add a gallery from the media tab in WP btw. So it seems to affect that too.

Thanks for the archive link. I couldn’t find it earlier when I was looking for the previous version of WP at all.

And my problems wasn’t possible to solve either. I cleared the cache, deactivated all plugins, cleared the cache again, rebooted the browser, even the computer. Still couldn’t bring up the image uploader, most used tags or get the menus to work in my dashboard.
Got Flash Player 10 installed, so that’s not the issue either.

So no panic downgrade here. I just want everything to work.
However, I did like the way 2.8 looked in the back.
I’ve linked from my blog post to your version archive here instead.

Thanks for the update on that 🙂

I’ve just downgraded to 2.7.1 myself by downloading the previous version of WordPress.

And just posted on my blog how to do it. There’s also a link at the bottom of that post where you can download WP 2.7.1 RC1 since it’s tricky to find online. Most of the links to WP 2.7.1 goes directly here and have been replaced with the new version.

If anyone from WordPress is reading this, can you please provide us all with a download link for the previous version of WP?? If anyone wants to roll back the upgrade it’s a lot of looking around to find it.

The download can be found here.
    Read the post for instructions.

    Thank you, TeddyBare 😀
    That really works.

    YAY!
That worked for me too 😀
    Thank you so much 😀

    It’s the same here.
Flash Player is up to date, and in my case it doesn’t seem to make much difference at all since the image upload works perfect in some of my blogs, while I can’t insert the uploaded images in others.

And I agree with aunrea here.
I can’t understand why this has to be flash based. It’s not secure and it works when it wants to.
At least there should be an option where users can decide if they want to use the flash based uploader or a regular one.

I’m having this issue as well, but only on a couple of my blogs. The installation is the same for all of them, but for some silly reason the image uploader is going blank on me when I try to insert the image into the post in only two of them.

Also, if I close the uploader window by using the x (only way to close it after it freezes), I can’t access the HTML tab in the editor any more.
It doesn’t make any sense why it would work in some blogs and not at all in others when they’re all on the same server and when they all have the same installation files.

    Nope…there’s no blank lines anywhere.
I even have a PHP programmer in the same room here and he checked it too.
He said that there is something before line 8 that already started a new page. Line 8 is the title tag in that file btw.

And I’ve alread read through the Troubleshooting, which is why I’ve written this post. It didn’t take me anywhere.

    C.
