Just to say I have finally worked out what was causing the discrepancies, my Windows system scale settings are set to 125%. D’oh!

I used the custom CSS and bingo!

This is what happens with Gutenberg.

When clicking the image it does indeed open up to the full media file and that is fine. The problem is that in the article the medium sized image is actually just the full media file scaled down. So in the article the browser is downloading all the full size images and not smaller versions. It greatly increases the amount of megabytes needed for each page to load.

I updated the plugin and I no longer have the “? highlight” part in the url which is great.

But it is still doing the “Highlight the terms in resulting pages” part although this is greyed out in the plugin settings.

I don’t have the pro version and the checkboxes are grayed out and set at off, but I still get the highlighted results.
